"Guareschi e Brescello, il cinema e il territorio" Museum
Inaugurated on June 21, 2009, inside the former Casa della Musica (House of Music), the “Brescello e Guareschi, il cinema e il territorio” Museum (Eng. Brescello and Guareschi, the cinema and the land) preserves records of Brescello’s cultural and cinematic history.
The ground floor hosts temporary exhibitions, while the first floor features a reconstructed film set from the Don Camillo and Peppone movies, accompanied by behind-the-scenes photographs illustrating the deep connection between cinema and the local landscape. This floor also includes a section dedicated to Raffaele Vaccari, a luthier from Brescello nationally acclaimed for his recreations of Stradivari violins. The top floor pays tribute both to rural life in the 1950s and to the memory of the Great Flood of 1951, which also appears in the saga’s first film (“Don Camillo”, Julien Duviver, 1952).
Adjacent to the Museum is Guareschi Park, a green area dedicated to Giovannino Guareschi, author of the famous saga, where visitors can see a sculpted bust in his honour.
