Oratory of the Blessed Virgin of the Ghiara
The Oratorio stands on the site of a former pillar once adorned with an image of the Beata Vergine della Ghiara (the Blessed Virgin of the Ghiara - ghiara from the name of the wall where the miracle leading to its construction took place -). It was commissioned by brothers Giovanni and Battista Vecchi-Chitò around 1900, designed by Professor Raffaele Baratti, and built by mason Marco Zambini. The building was opened to the public in 1909. Above the altar is a building by an unknown artist, depicting the Virgin in the adoration of the Child. An inscription on the canvas dates it to 1517. The Oratorio features a gabled façade facing west, framed by two pilasters and crowned by a triangular pediment.
