Walking along “Via Vittorio Emanuele II”, it is possible to reach “Felice Cavallotti” Square, punctuated by narrow terraced houses in late Medieval and 15th century style. This was the early inhabited centre of Gualtieri, whose houses surrounded the ancient Gothic church, now replaced by the current one.
The square also houses the Church of Sant’Andrea and the ancient Civic Well.
In the Po floodplain, there are places known only to those fishermen and boatmen who explore the river bends. One of these places is the “Porto Vecchio” (old port), where nowadays it is possible to find the wreck of a tugboat and two small boats (bettoline), later bombed by an allied plane in spring 1944.
In the lowlands, next to the Po river, there is a theater, without a stage, in which actors and the public can dialogue in a new way.
